Take a few deep breaths, sit down, and relax for a while.....
Come into a place where you may safely open your heart, where you may ask for healing, just be with your pain, or meditate on whatever you wish. You may visit anytime, and always know that you are not alone. Let this altar be a conscious/subconscious reminder of the things that are most important in your life. As you gaze at it, envsion your own magickal or symbolic tools resting upon it--how would you dress it up to create the greatest sense of connection, relaxation, comfort, and healing?
The Goddess--in all of her archetypal masks---has much to offer today's woman(and man!). The feminine aspect of the Divine has found a home in this new millenium, and with this rediscovery of the Great Goddess comes a renewed interest in the many faces of healing--from the healing of our own personal wounds to the healing of the planet. It is wise to view it as healing for all of creation, because, as I said previously, all life is connected, and it would not be very beneficial to only attempt to heal one part of the whole. Humanity is a microcosm of the universe, right down to the cellular level. So, as you can see, you should never feel you are alone--you are not, and you really could never be even if you tried! That is something to think about.
The energy of the universe is continuously spiraling, always in motion, eternal. All life is connected, each living thing, every ounce of effort put forth by you, me, by all beings---has a far-reaching effect. Every event that happens is a universal occurance with meaning and a lesson behind it. The challenge for each of us is to take the lesson from the painful experiences and the wisdom they have brought to us, and use them to become stronger and more resilient. This is not something that just happens over night. In order for us to fully understand the things that come to pass in our lives, we must realize that all we have is now--and we do not have to define ourselves by our wounds, nor do we have to allow pain to rule our lives, or our hearts. It is truly about perspective, deciding that although life has thrown us a curve, we can draw on our faith and also, the universal healing energy to bring us back to our center, to the Light. I have believed for quite some time now that I would not, and could not be doing healing work had it not been for the many painful moments I endured in my younger days. You are made up of all of your experiences through many lifetimes--the tears, the losses, the joys, the failures, the successes, and the loves. Each one of these parts must be embraced, accepted, loved in order for you to reach wholeness and inner peace. This is what makes human beings unique, our ability to reason and to reflect on our lives, and, our ability to love.

July 2008 ~ Full Moon
July's full moon is often referred to as the Blessing Moon, and I call it the Deep Summer Moon. This year the Blessing or Deep Summer Moon falls on Friday July 18th at 3:59 am, in the zodiac Earth Sign of Capricorn.
This full moon brings forth the need for balancing of the material and the spiritual. It is most important, if we are to draw deep meaning from our experiences here on Earth, to keep in mind that spirituality and faith are not just meant for religious holidays or when things are not going so well in our lives. Faith is a way of living, and when you define yourself by your faith, everything that life brings your way will have far more meaning than you could ever imagine. This month I'm going to recommend an amazing book/cd set/card deck...for no other reason than it absolutely changed my entire concept of life and its purpose:

The beautiful rose quartz, above, was gifted to me by my first Reiki teacher, a lovely woman who resides in the UK. The amethyst geode was a gift from me to my dear father, and when he passed, my mother returned it to me. I now keep it at my Reiki Shrine in tribute to him. The small goddess figure is the Goddess of Truth. The painting/print is Brighid, Celtic Goddess of Healing.
