A Witch's Craft

I am a Witch, and in plain terms, this means 'one who bends or shapes energy to achieve a desired outcome or goal'. As a Witch, also commonly referred to as a Wiccan or Pagan, depending on your belief system, I follow an 8 holiday, or Sabbat, year, consisting of :

Yule~Winter Solstice~December 21st
Imbolc~Brigid's Festival~February 1st or 2nd
Ostara~Spring Equinox~March 20th
Beltane~May Day/Fertility Festival~May 1st
Litha~Midsummer~Summer Solstice~June 21st
Lammas/Lughnasah~First Harvest~August 1st
Mabon~Fall Equinox~Second Harvest~September 21st
Samhain~All Hallows Eve~Witches New Year~October 31st

Each of these days is considered to be holy for a Witch. These holidays mark a turning point on our Wheel of the Year, and specific rituals are performed on each of these 8 Sabbats. Typically, the first 4 Sabbats represent growth, and the second 4 represent fruition and harvest. Halloween is the Witches New Year, when we honor all of those who have passed over, and we celebrate who we are and can be because of their legacies. The solstices & equinoxes are lesser Sabbats, while Imbolc, Beltane, Lammas & Samhain are are considered greater Sabbats.

Witches also recognize Moon phases, performing specific rituals or spells with regards to what phase the moon is in. A New moon is used for beginning new projects of any kind. A Waxing moon is used for encouraging growth. A Full Moon is extremely powerful and is tyically used for very potent spells, and is also the day when spells for growth should show results, coming to fruition then. A Waning/decreasing moon is used for banishing, clearing, removal of illness, and any other task involving decrease. We do not do growth spells of any kind during this time. 1st quarter waxing moon lasts 7 days, 2nd quarter waxing moon lasts 7 days, culminating on the full moon; 3rd quarter waning moon lasts 7 days, and 4th quarter waning moon lasts 7 days. One full cycle of the moon is 28 days.

So, now that I have given you an overview of my life's path and structure, I'll move on to the spellwork part :-)  During each month, there are optimal times for performing certain kinds of spells, and I also take into account what sign the moon is in, as well. You may be wondering how on earth I can keep track of all this! Well, I use several sources, wonderful ones, at that! The first is 7th House's 'Season's Of The Witch' wall calendar. It is very detailed and even gives suggestions for high power days, as well as warnings when no spells should be attempted. I simply cannot live without it!
Secondly, I use Llewellyn's Magickal Almanac, which comes in book form, so you can carry it anywhere. I usually use it when I'm on the go. See www.7th-House.com or www.Llewellyn.com to purchase these.

Certain astrological signs are more conducive to performing certain types of spells, for example, the sign of Taurus is ideal for working spells to increase beauty & outward appearance. Virgo is wonderful for healing spells, Scorpio is perfect for psychic work, Aries brings a fiery, assertive energy in.

Lastly, the day of the week is significant, also! Each day has a correspondance, as well. So, if you would desire to work a spell for love, you might want to arrange to perform it on a Friday (day of love and relationships) during the waxing moon (look for a day when the moon is in Libra, if possible), as close to Beltane as possible too, since it is a fertility/passion/fire festival!

Does all of this make your head spin? And, what about tools, candle colors, stones, a protective circle, calling in the correct Goddess(Venus or Aphrodite for this one!)? I'm heading somewhere with this, don't worry!

I will perform spells for others, at my discretion. What does that mean? Actually, it means that if you will send me your request, tell me what you need, I will then decide if it is something I am willing to attempt. Before you get discouraged, I don't typically turn down much of anything...but, I have requirements. I do not do anything negative, no matter how nice of a label you put on it, the answer will be 'no'. Think about it. Nasty stuff returns to you in a circular fashion, like a boomerang. You don't want that. I'm serious. In six months, I do not want to be involved in your undoing......end of that topic.
I will consider love spells as long as they do not involve manipulation of another person. Please send me details through my contact form, because this is a complicated issue and there are ways to work around the 'specific person' aspect of it.

I am an ethical person who does everything I say I am going to do. I also must add here that a spell is used for influencing energy, focusing your wish in a highly concentrated manner, and sending it out to the universe in the strongest way possible. I guarantee nothing----no one can, so it does not matter if you pay someone 5 times what I ask, they can do no better on your behalf....what matters is that the spell is formulated in such a way as to bring optimal results for you. This takes time and a little research. You are not paying for the spell itself, but for my time, so we need to be clear on that. I am fair, and I will never take advantage of your vulnerability or anything else. I honor our relationship, period.
Also, you will hold me responsible for nothing. I will work on your behalf, using my knowledge, skills and expertise to bring you & your goal closer together......however....your destiny is your own, and if you do not believe yourself worthy of what it is you ask for, it will not come to you, no matter what I do. Additionally, you make your own choices. What I do is open a door for you. You decide whether to step through it...or not. It really is that simple. I will tell you when the spell has been cast, and you will remain open to whatever the universe sends your way, as you focus on that goal for a few minutes each day thereafter. You'll keep in touch with me, and if you see no results within a month's time, one full cycle of the moon, we can discuss your next option. I do not refund payment, because, as I said above, I spend quite a bit of my time on your goal. Consider it this way: if you went to your doctor and he told you you have high blood pressure, would you refuse to pay him just because he told you something you did not want to hear?
